Well, it's official.
Spring is here.
The little Spring Peepers came out in the beginning of March, way too early to be spring for me, but now it's here. I can tell because we have sprouts up in the asparagus bed now. Plus a week or so ago I planted some seeds and today I saw the first tomato sprouts. Just one kind, but they're Keith's favorite, Bloody Butchers. They produce tons of medium-smallish tomatoes just right to cut up for salads or tacos. I've also got some basil sprouts, but so far that's all.
I didn't plant a whole lot. Tomatoes & peppers, cabbage & lettuce. I had some rosemary & strawberry seeds that I planted, even tho I don't really expect much success with them. I'm really trying to cut back my usual overly optimistic planning. 150 tomato plants? Really? No, I don't think so. 12 different kinds of peppers? When all Keith wants is pepperoncini and jalapeno peppers? Two sounds good. Six different kinds of melons, not counting the various watermelons? Plus a butt-load of squash vines wandering all over the garden with the melons? Keith says no.
