Really.
I've got plans. Resolutions, if you must.
Most of them are pretty vague. Eat better. Not go on a strict diet & starve myself or anything crazy like that. More fruits & veggies. Fewer cookies. Smaller pieces of cake. One thing I want to unleash my inner bitch on is no more sodas. Iced tea, fine. Water, fine. Fruit juice or a fruit smoothie, fine. Sugary, teeth-rotting death-in-a-can, oh hell no. I'd even be okay with an occasional glass of chocolate milk, or even a milkshake on special occasions, but I know I need to stay away from sodas.
The flip side to that resolution is get in shape. Not workout for an hour a day or go join a gym somewhere. Just get off my ass more often. Go for a walk after dinner or before I go to work. Go outside & play with the dogs. Take up bird watching or keep a nature journal & see how many different wildflowers I can find this year. Anything that doesn't involve Netflix or my laptop.
Not that I plan on neglecting my laptop. Heavens no. What were you thinking? I have plenty of things I need to do on my laptop. I already organized all my photos. 11 gigabytes, 6,000 files. I just finished organizing my music collection. 43 gigabytes, 13,000 files. Most of the music we got from Keith's nephew when he set up a computer for us so a lot of it I've never listened to. Lots of rock & country, but also some rap, electronica (not sure what that is), metal, oldies, bluegrass.
Now that I have that organized I'm ready to climb Mt. Email. I should just close my eyes & hit delete but I just can't. I did go through & delete a lot of junk in my mailbox, but there's still a ton of shit to wade through. You see, I'm in a lot of mail-lists, mostly for recipes and tarot spreads, but also stuff about plants and animals and crystals and other things that interest me. I'm always cutting and pasting things from those emails, or just copying things from different websites that I want to study later. Don't you hate clicking on a link to something and finding out the page turned into internet vapor since the last time you checked it out? I know I do so now I don't take any chances. If I like it & might want to read it again later I usually just do a little clicking & it's on my hard-drive safe and sound.
Of course, then it ends up mixed in with a thousand other interesting tidbits just like all the emails I need to go through. Between reading my emails, or at least skimming through & deleting them, and straightening up My Documents, I could stay on my computer 24/7/52. Which would interfere with my get in shape resolution, but I'm sure I'll be able to work it out.
Get it?
Work it out?
Work out.
Get in shape.
I'm hilarious.
