Christmas is officially over here at Casa de Cud. The tree is down, everything is boxed up and hauled out back to the shed. The tree looked nice, but if you ask me there should be some kind of law against making Christmas lights with white cords. They don't exactly blend in.
The living room looks empty now. We're thinking about moving everything around. Every now and then it's good to shake things up a bit. Plus this would be a good excuse to weed out a few of the speakers. We have almost 20 speaker cabinets. Just in the living room. There are more out in the parlor. And I do mean 20 speaker cabinets, not just 20 speakers. Most of the cabinets have two or three speakers in them. I don't even want to know how many actual speakers there are.
And then there are the stereo components. A whole stack of equipment. Receiver, equalizer, CD player, surround sound, etc. There are 8 pieces but I don't know what they are or what they do. Plus the game stations & the satellite dish controller. Don't forget the TV, either. Probably 10 or 15 years old. Maybe even 20. Definitely not a flat screen. It's a big, heavy dinosaur. Like Keith says, it takes two men and a boy to move it.
That's the main reason why we're putting off moving things around. It's not like we're talking about scooting the couch over a couple feet and calling it a day. This would be an all-weekend project. Maybe longer because I know Keith would want to stop in the middle of everything and paint the walls. And even if we knew where we wanted to move everything, we'd still have to pick out what color paint to use.
So really, if I have to be honest, I don't see anything changing in the living room for quite some time.
