Happy Happy Joy Joy

Time for a work update.

Obviously, MTM can kiss my ass. I'm never applying for a job there again. I don't care if it's the last job on earth.

Doesn't look like Serco is going to come through either. Mom told me there was a segment on the news about them the other night. I got online & watched it. Apparently they're supposed to help people fill out ACA paperwork but nobody's sending in any paperwork for them to work on. So instead of working all the employees just sit around with their thumbs up their asses all day. For some reason, the news anchor thought that was shocking. A waste of taxpayer's money.

So that explains why they aren't hiring.

That leaves King Innovation. Remember when I said my odds were 100%?

I WAS RIGHT!!!

Yesterday the manager finally called me into his office & told me they're going to hire me. I have to stay on Kelly's payroll for another couple of weeks, but I'm probably going to be switching to weekends after this week. He had to talk to the manager on duty on weekends & see when he wants me to start. So I'm probably going to work today & tomorrow & then be off an entire week.

I'm psyched. They have health insurance. Medical, dental AND vision. For about what I was paying at Verizon. Just a couple bucks a week for me but the manager wasn't sure how much it would be to add Keith but whatever it is will be fine with me. I'm glad I signed up for Obamacare, but this is going to be a lot cheaper, plus dental & vision coverage. There's a 401K, which is good because right now my entire retirement fund is, well, nonexistent. I've got a little something with Verizon, but I'm not even sure how to get it. I should probably call the Verizon benefits center & find out.

There are a couple of downsides. I won't be able to meet everybody for Saturday breakfast. Not such a change because working until 2am leaves me spectacularly resistant to getting up that early, so I don't make it to breakfast very often anyway. Another thing I'm going to have to miss that I also don't go to very often anyway is the Sunday flea market at Wentzville. Sometimes they have amazing stuff you never even knew you needed.

Sometimes all they have is crap.
