Memory Dump

I've been having all kinds of trouble with my computer lately. The hard drive or motherboard or something went bad. It freezes up, randomly shuts down. Sometimes when I tell it to shut down it says "Oh, did you want to restart?" I'm so sick of seeing "Dumping core memory". I'm so sick of staring at the screen, waiting for a page to load, then realizing it never will. Or working on something only to have the computer decide I should start all over. Again and again.

Stupid computer.

Then for a while the internet was down. Apparently, there's this stuff, called money, that makes the internet inter-netty. Without it, the internet is only a message saying "Can not connect to internet at this time. Please check connection and try again." Just trust me on this, if you don't cough up some money it doesn't matter how many times you check the connection & try again.

So I've been waiting for our income tax refund so I could get another computer. Not a new computer. I've only bought one new computer in my entire life & that was more than 10 years ago. Used is just fine. It's not like I'm doing anything that really needs the latest & greatest computer improvements. Basically all I do is surf the web & type stuff. I don't download movies or play on-line games. The only games I play are Minesweeper & Solitaire.

Then last night when I got home I sat down on the couch & started to open up my beastly old laptop but Keith said not to. I thought "Great, internet's down again", but no. That wasn't it. He went into the bedroom & brought out a big white box. About laptop sized. I didn't think we would get our return for another 2 or 3 weeks but it snuck up on me. He bought one from a store in St. Charles that repairs computers & sells used ones. It's a Dell, only a couple of years old. It has Windows 7, which to most people is probably old news by now but it's like space-age technology to me. Everything looks different. Things are in different places. Some things I haven't found yet & I'm afraid the were 'improved' out of existence.

So anyway, that's why I haven't been writing in here much lately, but that's all going to change now. I have about 5 or 10 posts all planned out in my mind. I just have to get them from my mind, through my fingers, into the keyboard, shoot them up into the internet & then I'll amaze the world with my brilliance. So basically I'm going to be doing a little memory dumping of my own.

Or something like that.

But I am going to be blogging my little fingers to the bone. Promise. Cross my heart & stick a needle in my eye & everything.
