In the last week or two it's rained about 10 inches. There's so much more coming the weatherman wouldn't give an estimate, just called it a 'boat load' of rain.
That's not exactly reassuring.
But that's not the bad news.
We went down to the clubhouse this evening & shot Coco for a while. I'm pretty rusty.
But that's not the bad news.
When we were coming back we saw the truck of the guy in charge of the levee parked next to some kind of pump repair truck.
That's not exactly reassuring.
Yeah, that pretty much was the bad news.
Turns out there's some kind of problem with the only pump that keeps Foley from flooding.
Not what you want to hear when the official forecast calls for a boat load of rain.
I'm just going to assume they can get the pump working. Otherwise if there's enough rain Foley could flood even though nobody else does.
Of course, it would have to rain an awful lot to flood town.
Say, about a boat load.
I wouldn't be surprised to see water backing up down in the bottoms but nothing up in town, so don't panic. Everything's going to be fine. Don't pull on the hip-waders just yet.
