Amen

There's a deaf lady that works at Serco. She sat next to me the other day at lunch. I didn't notice her at first because I've only seen her a couple of times, but then I noticed her signing away. At first I didn't think anything about it, then I realized there wasn't anybody sitting across from her. I looked around and there wasn't anybody else signing in the lunch room. Her hands were going a mile a minute but nobody was listening. I thought maybe she was talking to herself, then I realized she was staring at her plate while she was signing.

'Is this lady talking to her food?' I wondered. It took me while, but I think I figured it out.

She was saying grace.

Or maybe she was just yelling at her sandwich.
