Catching Up

It's been a while since I posted anything, so I thought I'd give a quick overview of what's been going on at Casa de Cud. It's been so long since I blogged I don't remember what I already wrote about, so don't be surprised if you feel a little deja vu every now & then.

First off, we've moved. Back to the floodplains. It's a long, long story, worthy of a blog post all it's own.

The Girl's been going to beauty college, so I've got free haircuts for life now.

We've got 2 dogs now, Snoopy & Leeloo. Snoopy's a dachshund we adopted from the pound. He's about 6 years old. A regular dog about town. Leeloo was a Christmas surprise from the Man. He went to the store on Christmas Eve to get something & there was a guy with a box full of puppies. I was surprised when I came home from work & there she was. Notice I didn't say pleasantly surprised. She's not a bad dog, & I didn't mind getting another dog. Just not in the middle of winter. When a puppy needs to go outside you don't have time to put on your shoes, get your coat, look for some gloves, then find the leash & wrestle the little darling down so you can hook it on. She was named after Milla Jovovich's character in the Fifth Element.

We also have 5 cats. I know, It's too early to turn into that crazy cat lady at the end of the street, but 5 cats wasn't my idea. Besides Big Fat Kitty all of them were either dumped down at Pecan Grove by some unknown asshole or just wandered up & adopted us. I'll put up a more detailed cat post later on.

Right now, I've got to go set up some racks for The Man to stack wood on. Our new house has a wood stove in the living room. Not just an ugly metal box like we had in the basement of our old house. This is one of the pretty ones with glass doors in the front so you can actually see the fire. Pretty sweet.
