Tulips

Today was a beautiful day. A perfect vacation day. I took advantage of the weather and planted some tulips and daffodils. I wanted to do a whole elaborate overhaul. Dig this up, plant it there, cover that with something. It would have taken all day, and I didn't remember about wanting to work in the flower bed until Mary came by around 3 and said what a nice day it was, so we went for Plan B. The Girl and I pulled some weeds from the big flower bed, then fluffed up the dirt in the little flower bed, stuck in the bulbs and covered the whole thing with a big bag of topsoil. Tomorrow, I'm going to take some of the ground cover in the big flower bed and put it in the small flower bed. That nice rich topsoil is just asking to get loaded with weeds if I don't do something with it, and I really like this ground cover. I don't remember what the actual plant's name is, but the variety is called Goldilocks. It's really nice low-growing plant with little round leaves that look like the whole place is covered with coins. Next year, the garden and the flower beds are all getting an overhaul. I'm going to buy more flowers, and good dirt, and mulch, and all kinds of crap. The seed catalogs are already on their way.
