Happy Dance

I'm doing a major happy dance right now. I finally got the CD I ordered of my favorite album of all time. The Fine Art of Surfacing by the Boomtown Rats is the CD I would want on a deserted island. I had an 8-track of it, then a cassette. I think I used to have it on vinyl, too, but I'm not sure. I played the cassette in my Mustang so often my boyfriend at the time got pissed at me once and threw the cassette out the window. I broke up with him shortly after that.

I searched E-bay for it once and could only find an old album. I didn't have a record player, but I bought it anyway. I have a record player now, but it's broken and I despaired of ever hearing my favorite songs again. Then a week or two ago I Googled it on a whim and found out they issued a remastered CD with bonus tracks that used to be B sides to singles.

Just in case I'm a total dinosaur and somebody reading this has no idea what a B side is, you used to be able to buy little records with just one song, called believe it or not a single. There were really two songs, one on each side, but usually only one side was a decent song and the other side, the B side, was a lame piece of shit. So comparing something to a B side is like saying it blows. I've only listened to the CD twice so far tonight, so I haven't come to a conclusion on the B side songs yet. They don't outright suck, I just don't recognize them. Each song on the original version is so familiar, and then suddenly there's these other songs I've never heard before.

On the other hand, the live version of Nothing Happened Today does officially suck. Just so you know.
